Pot, meet kettle.

Curious what happens when I don’t take my own advice?

Funny story, mama.

Remember how a few weeks ago I told you to quit apologizing for your success? Yeah. Turns out that I’m not always great at taking my own advice. But I want to share the the power of small wins!

A few months ago, I hit a massive milestone in my business. I made a million dollars in sales of my 12-week program, The Free Mama Movement. And there’s a part of me that really wants to apologize for telling you that.

In fact, I was so aware of not hurting anyone’s feelings with my success that I… pretty much didn’t tell anyone. I texted my family, “I’m sorry — I’m not trying to brag, but I don’t have a lot of people I can share this with.”

(My family was incredibly supportive and proud of me, by the way. I love them.)

The thing is, I knew in my brain that I was going to hit this milestone. I had built all of the systems that were necessary for it to happen. I had followed a step-by-step process that was created and tested by really smart people. I didn’t try to reinvent the wheel. I did what my mentors and coaches told me to do.

A year ago, when I was at Funnel Hacking Live, I watched other people go up on stage and collect their 2-comma club awards — given when you make $1,000,000 from your funnel.

I knew that if I continued on my path I would be one of those people on stage this year, so I bought my ticket for the event a year ago.

I joined a coaching program designed to ensure I would make those sales, and I followed the steps they set out for me. And still, when I got the notification, I didn’t even tell the people in that program, the program that was specifically designed to help me hit that goal.

So, yes. It’s hard to tell people about your success. But it’s important. Because this incredible thing happens when you smash through those goals. Your brain says, Hey, cool! This thing happened! I bet I can make other things happen. This is the power of small wins.

The first time you make $1000 working from home, your brain says, Hey, cool! I bet I could make $1500.

And when you do that, your brain says, I bet I could make $3000. And when you do that, your brain says, I bet I could make $5000.

You start thinking about things that have always seemed “impossible” or “crazy.”

You think about writing a book.

You think about having a Facebook group with 30,000 women.

You think about making a million dollars.

And then you go out and do those things, and you think, What else can I do?

To be clear — this isn’t about making more money. The money is amazing, but it’s almost secondary, because the money happens when you believe  you can do something even when you don’t know how to do it. And then you do it.
