You’re Already Doing This… Why Not Get Paid For It?

Be honest with me. Have you ever doubted your ability to be a virtual assistant because you don’t think you have any special skills?

Have you seen posts in the Free Mama Movement Facebook group and you had no earthly idea what they were talking about?

Then, you start thinking that all this VA stuff must be really complicated or advanced, and you’re just a mom/teacher/server/customer service rep/anything else…so it’s probably not for you.

Allow me to kindly, but firmly, tell you you’re wrong.

Sure, there are specialized and more complex services that many Free Mamas offer their clients. However, most of them DIDN’T start their freelancing business there. Many of them started with what they knew — something that you’re doing at this very second.

Email.

Yes, email.

Did you know that tons of business owners STRUGGLE with managing their email? Furthermore, they’re ready and willing — RIGHT NOW, with money in hand — to outsource this task to someone.

📧 Can you check email? Clearly, you can.

📧 Can you reply to emails with basic etiquette and complete sentences? Most likely.

📧 Can you organize emails into folders, or do a search on Google or YouTube to show you how? I’m willing to bet so.

YAY! You can offer email management as a virtual assistant, AND you can start immediately. A computer, WiFi, and the above skills (which you already have) are all you need.

(It’s also helpful to actually LIKE email and be at least somewhat organized with your own. If you have 75,000 unread emails in your own inbox, managing a client’s email may not be up your alley…but still, you CAN do it).

Don’t make this harder or more complicated than it is. Stop telling yourself that you don’t have any skills because I just showed you that you do. Don’t worry about posts in the Facebook group that you don’t understand yet.

You don’t need to know everything before you start your freelancing business. You start first, then learn anything you want…all while making money and growing your skills and experience.
