You are not alone

I was just on a Morning Huddle call with my team, and one of my amazing employees noted, “wow, Lauren, you seem to have a lot of energy today!”

Now, if you don’t already know me, I’m a pretty energetic person all the time. I talk fast, wave my arms often, and am quite animated anytime I’m in conversation with someone, online or in person.

I think what she actually meant was that I had a happy energy today.

The truth is, we’ve been going through a pretty hard time at the Golden house, and it’s been weighing heavily on my soul.

I’m usually pretty good about not letting it interfere with my ability to work or the way I show up for my clients, but my team not only sees right through it, I also choose to let them in on that part of my life.

It’s super hard. It requires trust and vulnerability, but there’s also something very freeing in being open about mental health.

As the leader of our homes and businesses, it’s really easy to feel as though we have the weight of the world, or at least our families’ worlds, on our shoulders.

If you’re carrying it all on your own, it’s difficult not to buckle under the pressure.

And on top of that, with the holidays right around the corner, I realize how this can be a painful time of year for a lot of people.

Whether you are dealing with overwhelm, loss, seasonal depression or any other challenge right now, you are not alone, and you will get through this.

It’s so important for us to acknowledge the happy moments where we can, the silver linings and the gratitude.

Hang in there, sharing with you some of my happy energy today.

I hope you have found your way to our Free Mama Movement Facebook group because our community has an abundance of love and support to go around, and in it, you will find that you are not alone in the struggles of building a business, or motherhood.

83: Never Let Your Clients Down

“All disappointments come from unmet expectations”

I have gotten the question of “how do you get over the fear of not meeting clients’ expectations?” and on this week’s episode of Free Mama Radio I map out how you can do just this!

Make sure you take a listen to the whole episode because all three tips I share can be applied in all aspects of your life!

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Getting over the fear of not meeting client expectations
  • Controlling the pace
  • The importance of communication
  • Understanding how to measure success

There is a lot of pressure to not let your clients down! And understandably so, they are paying you for your services, and you want to make sure they get their money’s worth.

So, these three tips will help you feel like you will never let your clients down. And it all starts with YOU!

First, Make sure you are realistic and honest with yourself! You should be controlling your own pace. You are the one ultimately in control.

Second, just like any relationship, you should communicate openly and often, so that there is no guesswork happening with your client or yourself. It’s also important that you realize that you CAN say NO! It is within your power to not be able to meet a deadline, and to communicate this.

Lastly, you need to understand how success is measured. This should be part of your onboarding process. It goes along with setting those expectations AND communicating. This is absolutely key in making sure you never let your clients down.
