7: Scaling Your Business with Joy With Laura Meyer

Does scaling your business with joy sound magical?! Are you thinking “sign me up!” but are you unsure what that would even look like for you? If so, you are going to love today’s interview with my special guest, Laura Meyer.

Laura is a serial entrepreneur who has scaled multiple six- and seven-figure online and offline companies over the last fifteen years. She helps national brands and high-growth entrepreneurs with profit growth, effective marketing, and brand strategy.

Laura is here to tell us the story of how she scaled her own business and how she came to help others do the same. I’m excited to ask her all about her turbulent entrepreneurial journey and how she overcame the challenges of leaving behind one dream to pursue a bigger one. If you are considering starting or scaling a business, you will not want to miss the marketing nuggets of gold that Laura is sharing with us in this episode.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Finding more time for family
  • The challenges of franchising
  • Laura’s journey from photographer to growth strategist/scaling coach
  • How she scaled her own business
  • Why finding your unique angle is the best thing you can do for your business

  • How to overcome your biggest challenges

  • Struggling with the loss of identity

  • How to stay true to yourself and what you really want

Life never seems to go the way we plan, right? Laura’s story is an example of how to navigate the unexpected and still come out on top. Starting or scaling a business will bring you new challenges, but don’t let them knock you down, mama. Instead, ask yourself what you will gain from this challenge. How will you and your business be better off on the other side of it?

See you here next week!

Do you have a dream that’s been pushed to the backburner? Something that you’ve always wanted to do, but have never permitted yourself to take the first step? Today’s episode is all the motivation you need!

My special guest today is Jennifer Allwood.  She is sharing with us how she went from pantyhose and a pager to earning a seven-figure income from home.  Jennifer will break down what she believes it takes for us to succeed, how to know when to let go, and how you can make hard decisions even when you’re feeling torn.

Jennifer stands steadfast in the idea of using her business as a way to serve God and her family. Her goal is to use the tools so readily available—social media, email, the Internet—as the way to make this happen. She knows getting unstuck, pushing through the overwhelm, and doing things in spite of fear are key in growing any business.

Jennifer is able to use her social media following of 500K people, her podcast, The Jennifer Allwood Show, with more than 1.5m downloads, her coaching groups with thousands of members, and her #1 best selling book, Fear is Not the Boss of You, to help other women do for their businesses what she has done in hers.

If you are ready to push fear to the side and make BIG things happen in your business this is an episode you are not going to want to miss!

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Using your business to serve God and family
  • Finding a middle ground in a world of working moms and stay-at-home moms
  • How Jennifer went from working in a mailroom to earning $90,000 in her first year of running a business
  • Finding a sense of belonging
  • How to use social media to your advantage
  • The challenges of walking away from a successful business that’s holding you back from your full potential
  • The process Jennifer went through to write her new book
  • The three actionable takeaways that you can gain from Jennifer’s book- Fear Is Not the Boss of You

Starting a business takes courage, and Jennifer is an example of what happens when you have the courage and act on it. What’s the next step that you need to take to change your life for the better mama?!  Reach out to me and let me know how I can help you!

5: 3 Things You Must Quit To Succeed

Today we are chatting about 3 things you must quit to succeed in business and life.   I am a total quitter myself.  If something isn’t serving me, I know I must quit it if I want to achieve my goals.

Did you know that when you focus on the RIGHT things, you don’t have to do as much?  Sounds amazing, right?!   As women, many of us are moms, wives, daughters, and friends.  And let’s not forget about all of the other roles we play- teachers, cooks, chauffeurs, referees, and piano practice supervisors just to name a few!  Many of us take on things that really don’t HAVE to be done.  Quit doing that mama!

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Quitting things that aren’t serving you
  • Why we fill our time doing things that make us feel productive
  • Showing up as the best version of yourself
  • Comparing yourself to others and why you need to quit
  • The importance of eliminating distractions
  • Figuring out the goals and vision for your business
  • Reframing comparisons into something inspirational
  • Why you need to stop looking for the “easy” way to success
  • Managing your expectations about what it takes to be successful

I want you to know that the thing you want will be hard to achieve.  Not because it’s hard in and of itself, but because it is going to cause you to expand as a human. And that’s a great thing!

The thing that is on the other side of your comfort zone, will feel hard and uncomfortable.  I challenge you to push through.  That is where true growth happens.  You might not feel like you are in a tough place right now mama, but I know you will get to the other side.

I truly believe that there is more opportunity than ever for you to create the type of life that you want.  Please stop doing those things that aren’t serving you.  Stop looking for the easy way and I think that you’ll find that your goals are actually a lot closer than you may have thought!

4: Learning by Doing: The NerdyGirl’s Advice to Creating Content with Personality with Brittany Bullen

What happens when you combine an obsession with helping women succeed and the workings of an introvert performer? You get content with personality!

I’m so excited for today’s episode because I’m having my very first guest on the podcast! Please allow me to introduce the NerdyGirl herself, Brittany Bullen!  Author of the books “Personality Marketing: Join Your Industry’s A-List by Embracing Your Inner Nerd” and “The Crisis of the Ordinary: What to Do If You Secretly Wish for More Than What You’ve Got,” Brittany gets SUPER NERDY about helping her clients, students, and readers follow their enthusiasm in the direction of their dreams.

When she’s not wrangling her four boys at home, you’ll find her talking strategy and sales copy while mashing her clients’ “inner potatoes” until they’re magically delicious.

Brittany saw a need to help women market their talents and services so they can create a business that generates income. That need snowballed into something much larger than what she initially thought.  Now she helps women create the marketing and mindsets they need to get everything they want out of life and business.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • How to show up with an authentic vibe
  • Doing what you love vs. getting paid to work
  • The birth of the ‘nerdy girl’
  • How she turned her process into a book
  • The superpower of persuasion
  • Disconnecting your self-worth from your business accomplishments and failures
  • The power of bringing your family into your vision
  • Figuring out what gives you the greatest fulfillment
  • The misconception with being an introvert performer in business
  • Structure of an effective marketing video
  • The value of joining a network community

The journey of entrepreneurship is a constant process of optimization. Brittany is proof that you don’t have to know everything before you start your business. Embracing your inner nerd is all about leveraging your enthusiasm and learning as you go.

I never thought I’d be the entrepreneur I am today. I never realized that I could take control and choose how I live my life…until something happened that changed it all. In this episode, I’m sharing the story of how I found courage through my loss.

Like most moms, I carried a lot of guilt with loving work, but having to be away and feeling like I was not there for my family. There was guilt, too, for not pursuing the career and the ‘ideal’ family I wanted. I made plans in an attempt to take control – but life happens.

Discover the three a-ha moments that propelled me to be the entrepreneur, mom, and wife I am today. Learn from my pain, mistakes, and breakthroughs so you can fast track your success.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

2: Quit Googling How to Make Money From Home: What Worked for Me

Do you have a desire to make money from home? Years ago, my life consisted of constant exhaustion from work, toxic people, and long commutes.  I was also taking care of my kids and the house and my husband was never home.  I desperately wanted something different so I sat down one day and Googled “how to make money from home”.

Yes, I admit, that was me. I was desperate. And that one search led me from one disappointment to another – until I found what worked for me.  The thing that allowed me to be the Free Mama I am today.

In this episode, I will reveal why so many “make money from home” opportunities fail us. I know they do, because I have tried them all. I will also talk about what I discovered that allowed me to quit my job and replace my income in less than a year, working half the hours. And I am lucky enough today to have successfully taught thousands of other moms to do the same.

If you’re into making money, while being an awesome mom, this is one episode you won’t want to miss!

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • How the Free Mama got started
  • The impact that other people can have on your mental health
  • The dilemma that pushed me to Google “make money from home”
  • The truth behind network marketing
  • Lessons I learned from some “work from home” opportunities
  • The webinar that started my freelancing journey
  • Why I believe freelancing is the path to success

I sincerely hope that you take action with what you heard in this episode because it’s time for you to start having control of your time, your life, and your income. Today is your day to get started, mama!

Lauren

1: Two Years Later: Why I Decided NOW is The Time To Launch Free Mama Radio

Finally! It’s Free Mama Radio launch day! I have been looking forward to this day for SO long! I have been thinking about doing a podcast since I launched the Free Mama Movement in 2017.  If you know anything about me, you know that I am quite the prioritizer and love to achieve goals…. But, they need to be at the right time.  And that time wasn’t right until now!

Like many things in life, things don’t always go as planned.  I thought this launch would go differently than it has.  Clearly, I didn’t expect to be quarantined inside my house with 3 kids and a husband while trying to record these episodes for you.  In life and in business, there are times when you have to get creative and that’s exactly what I had to do.

I am so excited for this podcast to be out in the world because everything about the Free Mama Radio mission comes back to my mission behind the Free Mama Movement. There is a message I was placed here to share….. that no mother should have to choose between family and financial stability.

I grew up with an amazing stay-at-home mom, so I thought that’s what motherhood should look like.  Then, I discovered that I love helping people and challenging myself.  Plus, we needed the income.

Does picking one mean you fail at the other? Does pursuing financial stability mean you are putting your family second?  Can’t I just have it all!?

In this episode of Free Mama Radio, I will talk about what I think being a good mom looks like and how you can be a good mom, while bringing home an income for your family if that’s what you feel called to do. I’m glad I’m no longer torn between choosing one for the other. I created a business I love, on my terms, and so can you.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • The importance of being creative and flexible to achieve your goals
  • The value of living from a wealth and abundance mindset
  • My mission and intention behind Free Mama Radio
  • Being torn between wanting to be a great mom and having a successful career
  • The pain of putting your marriage as a last priority
  • What ‘having it all’ means for me

This podcast is about you and how you show up to achieve your goals as a mom, as a wife, and as an entrepreneur.
