This Is NOT How I Wanted Things To Go

Have you ever tried to be SuperWoman, Mama?

I’m sure you have… society places super high expectations on us moms, as you well know.

Be a breadwinner, but also be super involved with your kids, and don’t forget to exercise daily, have hobbies, feed your friendships, and love on your spouse. Oh, and keep your house clean and tidy, cook 3 healthy meals a day, and make every birthday and holiday pure magic for your family. But also get enough sleep while you’re at it, you don’t want anyone to think you’re exhausted.

It’s so much. Too much.

Earlier this week that pressure caught up with me. You may have witnessed my public meltdown during my Monday live.

I actually felt so much better after that very real, cathartic display of emotion.

And then… I got sick.

While I’m still waiting for the results of my COVID test, I’m isolating in my bedroom away from my family, and nursing my symptoms (the not being able to smell or taste is bizarre).

When I woke up this morning, worse than yesterday, my first thought was… you are not SuperWoman. I might be fine. It might not be COVID, but I feel awful.

This community is all about helping moms live a totally awesome, guilt-free life. We believe no mother should have to choose between family and financial stability. We believe you can HAVE it all.

But even I know that no one has it all by doing it all.

We have to set boundaries. We have to say no. We have to stop trying to fit into society’s unrealistic expectations and live our own values. We have to take care of ourselves.

And so I have made the gut-wrenching decision to postpone Freelance to Freedom Weekend so that I can:

  1. Model what it looks like not to be the elusive SuperWoman
  2. Rest and focus on my health
  3. Show up when I’m feeling better and serve you at the absolutely highest capacity

The Freelance to Freedom Weekend is about getting things done to create a huge transformation in your business AND life.

And none of that matters if you don’t have your health.

Tickets to this life-changing experience will remain on sale until our new event dates, November 5-6, which means there is still time to join us!

For now, I’m going to stop pretending to be SuperWoman and go climb back in bed.
