27: Creating Space To Slow Down So You Show Up and Have More

Creating Space

Are you always looking to the future and planning for the next big thing? Are you making time in your life to sit still and just be present?

At the beginning of the pandemic I felt called to reevaluate things in my life.  I looked at my schedule, my business, and my relationships to see what was working and what needed some adjusting.

There was this sudden stillness thrust upon us when people stopped leaving their houses, and suddenly we weren’t so caught up in the day-to-day routines and schedules.

And I realized that before the pandemic, that maybe I hadn’t been creating enough space to just be.

On today’s show we are covering why it’s valuable for us to be still from time to time, and how we can use this stillness to be more present in our business and with our families.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • The value of being still
  • Being fully present
  • Paying attention to how you feel
  • The experience and benefits of tracking how I feel
  • Being more in touch with your body
  • How you can have more by doing less

I want to challenge you to think about this in your own life. Ask yourself some reflective questions. How can you be present today? What can you take off your plate? How can you do less so that you can actually show up and have more?

Remember that being present today is just as important as what you have planned for tomorrow.

This is a message that I have felt called to share with you, so I hope you take a few minutes to tune in!  I would love to hear from you so be sure to reach out to me @laurengoldenfreemama on IG!

25: Stop Overthinking and Start Taking Action in Your Business with Stacy Tuschl

Do ever stop and think about whether your business is growing in the direction you want it to? Are you working with a goal in mind?

Only you have the power to create the life you want.

Today’s guest, Stacy Tuschl, has made a name for herself as an expert in growing small businesses. Put it this way: Stacey started her own business at the age of 18 in her parents’ backyard and turned the company into a multimillion-dollar business that she still runs today. Her business, the Academy of Performing Arts, has two locations in her home state of Wisconsin. In addition to being a small business growth coach, Stacy is a best-selling author and founder of the Foot Traffic Formula. She helps small businesses around the world get more customers in the door, more profit in their pockets, and more happiness in their homes.

In this episode, we’re going to talk about her journey from backyard to multimillion-dollar business and what she has learned along the way. We’re getting into marketing, time management, life goals, and how Stacy teaches her clients to grow their businesses.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • The value of time management
  • The way we market has adapted to different platforms over the years
  • Building a business that runs without you
  • Pivoting our business approaches to adapt to COVID
  • Why you should not be afraid to experiment
  • The value of identifying a need and acting on it
  • The three Ts of the Foot Traffic Formula
  • What traffic is and why it’s important for your business
  • Why tracking is the secret sauce
  • Working smarter, not harder

Isn’t Stacy just such a powerhouse of a woman? I’m so excited that we got to have her as a special guest on Free Mama Radio so she could share some of her wisdom with us. I hope you got something valuable from this episode, especially if you are just starting out! Remember: nothing is ever perfect.  The important thing is that you take action and pivot along the way!

I’m also super excited about Stacy’s new book, The Implementation Code, which you can get for FREE right now at www.implementationcode.co/freebook. You’ll just pay shipping and handling, so definitely a deal you don’t want to miss!

24: Live Events: The Ticket to Breaking Through in Your Business

Live Events

Have you ever been to a live event? If you just answered no, I am going to rock your world.

In this episode of Free Mama Radio, I’m going to tell you the three reasons why I absolutely MUST attend events in order to grow my business.

As a little background for you, my very first side hustle as an adult was as an event planner. So evidently, I’ve always loved events. I know it’s kind of a crazy time for events right now, and although there a lot of things I miss about in-person events, online events are really fantastic too. In some ways, even better!

In today’s episode we cover the three reasons that I try to make sure I’m attending an event every single quarter.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • The community that can be found at events
  • The value of having time away from family and client work
  • The benefits of being in a different environment
  • Why your business cannot be bigger than your mindset
  • How attending an event will make you feel filled up and recharged
  • What I’m doing to make sure that Free Mama Live is even better than last year

Seriously, if you’ve never been to a live event, I cannot recommend it enough. If you’re struggling to move forward in your business, a live event will facilitate the mindset shift that needs to happen. Just like we discussed in the episode, your business can never be bigger than your mindset.

If you are someone who’s been feeling deflated, alone, or just so tired of working IN your business instead of ON your business, I want to invite you to join us at Free Mama Live! October 1st is the last day to get your tickets to make sure you get your swag box before the event! Go to  www.freemamalive.com/2020 to snag them before it’s too late!

She took a heart-wrenching experience and turned it into a way to help other moms who were struggling to pay hospital bills and feed their families.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Abbi’s journey in freelance writing
  • How you can get paid to write from home
  • How she pitched to her first clients

facebook personal profile for freelancers

Do you need a Facebook business page? That’s the question we’re here to answer today.

In today’s episode of Free Mama Radio, I’m talking about one of the controversial things that comes up in my Facebook group over and over and over again, and I always get so much pushback on this. We are talking about how to get the most out of your personal Facebook profile (and whether you actually need a business page or not).  Join me to find out my feelings about the different types of Facebook profiles and which one you actually need.

Spoiler alert: I’m sharing all the reasons I DON’T believe that you need a business page when you’re getting started in your business.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • What different types of Facebook pages there are
  • The elements of your personal Facebook profile and how to use them to your advantage
  • The difference between a personal profile and a business page
  • How long your posts actually live on Facebook
  • Using your personal profile to build your professional brand
  • When to consider starting a business page
  • Why I don’t think you need a business page when you’re getting started in your business

There’s a reason I don’t teach creating a business page inside of the Free Mama Movement 12 week program. It’s because I don’t want you doing work twice! I want you to be making the best possible use of your time and creating a business page just doesn’t achieve that.

Ok, so now I want to know.  Do you agree with me? I would love to hear! Reach out to me on Instagram @laurengoldenfreemama and let me know.

19: Why Making Connections is More Important Than Making a Sale with Violette de Ayala

Making Connections

Have you been looking for more purpose, fulfillment, connection, and wealth in your business?

Violette de Ayala knows a thing or two about the power of effective networking, and she’s here to share how it has shaped her business and life. She understands that making connections with people is more important than making a sale, and that the kindness and service that you give to others will come back to you energetically.

Violette is a Cuban American serial and social entrepreneur, founder of FemCity®, and International best-selling author.

It’s so great to have the opportunity to find out more about what her entrepreneurial journey has looked like and how it has evolved. We’re getting into redefining failure, having an abundance mindset, celebrating ourselves, how to network and interact with others, and how making connections is the key to building a business that lives beyond you. I can’t think of a better example of how to treat others than Violette herself, and I know you’ll agree by the end of this value-packed episode.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Looking outside of ourselves and lifting others up
  • Starting her entrepreneurial journey as a young mama
  • Building a business that will live on beyond you
  • How to look at failures as learning opportunities
  • Why you need to stop tinkering with your logo
  • How FemCity got started
  • Why you should celebrate yourself
  • Having an abundance mindset
  • Three practical tips for growing your business through networking and interacting with other humans
  • The value of relationships and making connections
  • Being ready and open to receiving opportunities

After listening to this episode, I want you to think about how you interact with people when you’re hoping to network or find a client. Do you make it about you? Do you try to make a connection with them? Are you serving them? Think about how you can make your interactions less about you and more about them. I can guarantee it will be more effective than firing off a sales pitch to a total stranger.

Share your thoughts with me over on Instagram. I’d love to hear your breakthrough moments from this episode!
