A quick question: Have you ever wondered how to find clients?
If you answered yes, then you’re like 99.9% of other business owners in the entire world!

Some more good news is that clients are EVERYWHERE! Let’s drill down and talk about how to find them using something you’re probably quite familiar with already.
Do you use social media?
Well, great! In this week’s episode of Free Mama TV, I’ll give you my best advice on how to leverage the power of social media to connect with potential clients — including some hands-on tricks to help you work smarter.
Be honest with me. Have you ever doubted your ability to be a virtual assistant because you don’t think you have any special skills?
Have you seen posts in the Free Mama Movement Facebook group and you had no earthly idea what they were talking about?
Then, you start thinking that all this VA stuff must be really complicated or advanced, and you’re just a mom/teacher/server/customer service rep/anything else…so it’s probably not for you.
Allow me to kindly, but firmly, tell you you’re wrong.
Sure, there are specialized and more complex services that many Free Mamas offer their clients. However, most of them DIDN’T start their freelancing business there. Many of them started with what they knew — something that you’re doing at this very second.
Email.
Gif by Giphy
Yes, email.
Did you know that tons of business owners STRUGGLE with managing their email? Furthermore, they’re ready and willing — RIGHT NOW, with money in hand — to outsource this task to someone.
📧 Can you check email? Clearly, you can.
📧 Can you reply to emails with basic etiquette and complete sentences? Most likely.
📧 Can you organize emails into folders, or do a search on Google or YouTube to show you how? I’m willing to bet so.
YAY! You can offer email management as a virtual assistant, AND you can start immediately. A computer, WiFi, and the above skills (which you already have) are all you need.
(It’s also helpful to actually LIKE email and be at least somewhat organized with your own. If you have 75,000 unread emails in your own inbox, managing a client’s email may not be up your alley…but still, you CAN do it).
Don’t make this harder or more complicated than it is. Stop telling yourself that you don’t have any skills because I just showed you that you do. Don’t worry about posts in the Facebook group that you don’t understand yet.
You don’t need to know everything before you start your freelancing business. You start first, then learn anything you want…all while making money and growing your skills and experience.
So then, what happens if you’ve sent an invoice to your client, and…crickets? You provide a service in exchange for payment. It’s kind of the whole point of business.
Plenty of people are really uncomfortable talking about money.
But in business, there are times when it’s a must. One of those times is when you have a client who is late paying you. At best, it’s an annoyance…and sometimes it can be a major inconvenience or lead to financial struggle for you as a freelancer.
Let’s do everything we can to avoid that and get you paid on time, every time!

I’m sure you have… society places super high expectations on us moms, as you well know.
Be a breadwinner, but also be super involved with your kids, and don’t forget to exercise daily, have hobbies, feed your friendships, and love on your spouse. Oh, and keep your house clean and tidy, cook 3 healthy meals a day, and make every birthday and holiday pure magic for your family. But also get enough sleep while you’re at it, you don’t want anyone to think you’re exhausted.
It’s so much. Too much.
Earlier this week that pressure caught up with me. You may have witnessed my public meltdown during my Monday live.
I actually felt so much better after that very real, cathartic display of emotion.
And then… I got sick.
While I’m still waiting for the results of my COVID test, I’m isolating in my bedroom away from my family, and nursing my symptoms (the not being able to smell or taste is bizarre).
When I woke up this morning, worse than yesterday, my first thought was… you are not SuperWoman. I might be fine. It might not be COVID, but I feel awful.

This community is all about helping moms live a totally awesome, guilt-free life. We believe no mother should have to choose between family and financial stability. We believe you can HAVE it all.
But even I know that no one has it all by doing it all.
We have to set boundaries. We have to say no. We have to stop trying to fit into society’s unrealistic expectations and live our own values. We have to take care of ourselves.
If you’re reading this email, you can provide email management services to clients — and I promise you, they need your help with it…like, yesterday.

If you’re looking for a simple, easy-to-learn service to offer to start your freelancing business, email management is the perfect way to do it. It’s a task that so many business owners have either neglected or are drowning in, and they desperately need someone to come in and help.
Free Mama TV this week will show you how you can start with basic inbox management and specialize into more advanced email services. You don’t want to miss it!
How’d you feel starting around 5 pm this past Sunday?
Even if you have a hard time remembering what you were doing at 5 pm yesterday…Sundays tend to hit differently. Those emotions aren’t easy to forget because you feel them week after week. After week. Like clockwork.

Fun fact for you: my very first gig as a freelancer was social media management.
This was alllll the way back in 2014-15 and social media has changed A LOT since then.

This also means that managing a client’s social media for their business is way different now than it used to be. If you’re curious about offering this hot service in your freelancing business and making it a success in 2021 and beyond, then you are definitely in the right place.
When I was a social media manager 7+ years ago, it was all about securing the sale for my clients and obsessing over followers, likes, and comments.
Today, though, that isn’t how it’s done. If you want to be a successful social media manager now, you’ve got to know a few things — and we’re breaking it all down inside of this week’s episode of FreeMamaTV.
